Since 2015, Marie-Pier and David Corbeil have been building RVE with a clear mission: to make home charging of electric vehicles accessible, especially in complex contexts such as multi-unit buildings. Today, the Quebec-based company radiates across North America with more than 30,000 electromobilists recharging every morning thanks to their technologies.
Behind this impressive growth lies a solid HR foundation, built in the early years with the help of Flexia Conseil. This strategic collaboration has enabled them to ensure healthy expansion in line with their values.
The challenge
After four years in business, RVE had just six employees… but an ambitious growth planOur goal was to grow to 40 people in just a few years. At the time, there was no HR structure in place.
The company was operating in a booming sector, where technological, regulatory and human needs were changing rapidly. The market for electric vehicles was booming, and the young company was faced with the challenge of structuring its business while retaining the agility typical of a start-up. startups.
Marie-Pier and David knew that such an expansion could not be achieved without solid support. How do you build a strong corporate culture, structure HR and anticipate future needs – without losing RVE’s entrepreneurial DNA?
“We knew we wanted to grow, but we didn’t want to improvise. We needed a partner capable of accompanying us with a keen understanding of our needs.” – David Corbeil
The solution
That’s when RVE turned to Flexia Conseil.
From the outset, the Flexia team won the confidence of the co-founders through their attentiveness, professionalism and diversity of expertise. The relationship began with HR outsourcing, providing RVE with a resource on which to build its foundations, while retaining a human and personalized approach.
Flexia supported RVE in:
- Setting up clear job profiles in line with realities in the field;
- The creation of an equitable salary structure;
- Talent coaching on the move;
- Developing a strong employer brand;
- Setting up an in-house HR department, with the support and skills development of their own HR consultant;
- The leadership development pathway, for training company managers.
Flexia also supported RVE in the co-construction of key HR policies, such as pay equity, employment contract models and teleworking guidelines. The approach has always been personalized, taking into account the company’s stage of growth.
“Flexia gave us peace of mind. We knew we were doing things in the right order.” – Marie-Pier Corbeil
One of the highlights of this collaboration was the mentoring offered to the new HR consultant, ensuring a smooth and lasting transfer of knowledge, and enabling RVE to become autonomous in its internal management.
This comprehensive, scalable and tailored approach has enabled RVE to build both efficient processes and a well-defined culture.
The results
Aligned and structured growth
Rather than reacting in a hurry, RVE invested upstream in its HR. The result: a smooth expansion, without the organizational tensions often associated with rapid growth. The tools and practices implemented from the outset were able to integrate naturally into the life of the company.
The strategic planning carried out with Flexia and aligned with RVE’s overall strategy, also enabled us to prioritize the right HR projects at the right time, avoiding administrative overload in the midst of rapid growth. Today, this basic structure enables RVE to continue to evolve with confidence.
